PDC BoyleSports World Grand Prix Preview



The best darts players in the world are set to converge on Mattioli Arena Leicester, for the PDC BoyleSports World Grand Prix on Monday 7th Oct! 


With record ticket sales and sold out nights, it's going to be the biggest and best event yet!


Reigning champion Luke Humphries looks to defend his coveted crown against the likes of Luke Littler, Michael Van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, who are among the 32 man field facing off in Leicester. 


The event will be televised and streamed across the world, but limited tickets are still available for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday here


With the chance still to grab tickets for the opening rounds and a guarantee to see the very top darts players live, fans will need to be quick to grab the final remaining tickets.

Competition format


This unique double-start event will be played at the Mattioli Arena from October 7-13, featuring seven days of exhilarating action among the best to throw the arrows. 


The opening round takes place across the first two days, with hair raising matchups taking place from the off. 


The winners of the round of 16 progress through to the quarter-finals, played from Wednesday to Friday, before the semi final on Saturday and Final on Sunday.  


In a change to last year's format, Saturday's semi-finals on October 12 will be contested over the best-of-nine sets, with the final set to be played over the best-of-11 sets on Sunday October 13.


Opening round clashes 


After winning his first televised title in Leicester a year ago, Luke Humphries starts his title defence against fierce competition, renewing his rivalry with the beloved Stephen Bunting in the round of 16 - a two-time World Grand Prix semi-finalist.


Meanwhile, teenage sensation Luke Littler is one of five debutants in the 32 player field. The Premier League champion opens his title challenge with a showdown against fourth seed Rob Cross in a blockbuster matchup on the opening night. 


World No 2 Michael Smith will play 2016 finalist Gary Anderson in another headline tussle, and six-time winner Michael van Gerwen faces 2017 champion Daryl Gurney.


The action will be intense from the off with these heavyweight clashes, expect high-drama and shocking results!

Demand for tickets to this event has been unprecedented, with record ticket sales and sold out nights! 


Coming to the darts? Expect seven days of incredible atmosphere, electric energy and jaw dropping moments at Mattioli Arena Leicester. 


With 2024 already set to be such a success, we are delighted to announce that the World Grand Prix will be returning in 2025, but for now there's 2024 to enjoy and all eyes will be on the Arena from Monday.
